Chicken with Saffron Cream Sauce
• 2 to 4 chicken breasts
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 cup dry white wine
• A Small Pinch of Heray Saffron (1/2 tsp saffron)
• Olive oil (for cooking)
• 1 tbsp Salt (for taste)
• 1 tbsp minced garlic
• 2 tbsp flour
• 1 cup chopped spinach or kale
• Serving Size: This recipe serves 2 to 4 people, depending on the number of chicken breasts used and individual portion sizes.
• Prep Time: 10 minutes
• Cook Time: 20-30 minutes
• Total Time: Approximately 30-40 minutes
1. Prepare the Saffron Cream: Start by gently grinding the saffron and adding it to the heavy cream. Let it simmer on extra-low heat while you cook the chicken.
2. Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, then pan-fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
3. Make the Sauce: In the same pan, add a bit more olive oil and the minced garlic. Cook for about a minute, then sprinkle in the flour and stir. Allow it to cook for another minute before deglazing the pan with white wine. Let the wine reduce by half.
4. Add Saffron Cream: Stir in the saffron-infused cream and let it thicken. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a little water or chicken stock to thin it out.
5. Incorporate Greens: Toss in the chopped spinach or kale and stir until the greens wilt.
6. Reheat Chicken: Return the chicken to the pan and allow it to reheat in the saffron cream sauce.
